Ian White is an award-winning, internationally recognised film-maker. 

 

His 2015 feature, Before The Fall was in competition at the 89th Academy Awards. His critically aclaimed feature documentary, Mutiny In Heaven (2023) was executive produced by Wim Wenders and released theatrically across the USA, EU, Canada, UK and Australia in addition to screening at more than two dozen international festivals.

 

His work has received numerous awards over the years including a BANF World Media Award for best documentary of the year, several Asian TV awards and a Hero Award at the 2018 Monte Carlo TVFF.

 

He has directed, edited and produced theatrical feature films and broadcast / streaming content in over 15 countries throughout the world. His work has been described as visually striking and immensely thought provoking. 

 

He was commissioned to co-write and direct an official one hour tribute and obituary for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II - screened by Australia’s national broadcaster (ABC) at the time of Her Majesty’s passing in 2022.

 

​Regularly commissioned by the United Nations to produce documentary work, his most powerful films have been mentioned in UN security council meetings. His journeys have taken him through combat zones, refugee camps and some of the most isolated areas on the planet.

Ian White began his career in Melbourne, Australia as a graphic designer for Smash Hits magazine. He went on to become art director for record labels Mushroom and Polydor Records. His artwork has been published in the prestigious international design annual Graphis and cited amongst best  Australian rock posters of all time.
